A brief look at our kennel action and news from the previous week and it is brief as it was pretty quiet all round. Our Golden Sprint semi finalist Aero Madrid was eliminated at Romford Friday though Ivy Hill Skyhigh was impressive when winning his heat of the Stuart Roberts Quicksilver in a rapid 35.13 when beating kennel mate Hopes Doggy.
We have a bit more open race action this week with a busy night at Romford in supporting finals and opens for the Golden Sprint final and we have a few runners at Monmore on Saturday which includes the returning Bo Shine Bullet who flew round in a trial at the Midlands track with a calculated 28.12. We were also delighted to see our Essex Vase winner Antigua Romeo return with a great 27.96 calculated trial as well returning from a short rest.
Our graded runners, which is always an important part of our set up, have been on fire this year and looking on the excellent greyhoundstats.co.uk website I see we are leading the stats for kennels that have had over 100 graded runners with 74 winners from 278 runners at a near 27% strike rate, a great record with over 200 trainers on that list. Of course many will say that’s because we are leniently treated or have other conspiracy theories for the high % of winners but it’s far more simple than that, we have introduced plenty of young new dogs to the strength this year and their natural improvement has seen a few climb through the grades. Indeed soon we will see the likes of Rail Mccoy, Saffrons Smash, Onyx Penny and Sheriff Master on the open race scene while other young ones like Scrahane Boss, Swift Pinch, Lost Without You, Victoria Springs to name but a few haven’t stopped winning yet. Some of our older dogs have also been quite consistent and win ‘out of turn’ as they say and that has helped With more youngsters beginning to trial hopefully that can continue and I like it when I see a puppy progress through the grades into open class.
Talking of youngsters and as I said last week we have some young dogs up for sale on our for sale page and we will be adding more over the coming weeks and if anyone is looking long term we have two fabulous young litters on our Energize Kennels page. We can do great deals with part or monthly payments with a small deposit if that works for anyone.
OPEN RACING
At Central Park on Sunday Ardera Nidge ran well when he was second in the minor sprint final but Sweet Pear made sure we didn’t come home empty handed when winning a maiden in good style in 29.49.
HENLOW & TOWCESTER REVIEW
On Monday at Henlow a rare blank for us with Bobs Boy closest when 3rd. At Towcester on Tuesday night just four runners with Baby Bullet and Towstar Izzy were close up seconds.
On Saturday the improving Sheriff Master won well in an A2 from off the pace in a good 27.97. In a hot A1 Playbook was just caught on the run in going down by a length in a fast 27.57 and Shazzas Bullet scored a deserved victory in an S2 by a neck in 34.09.

WHAT’S ON NEXT WEEK
On the open race scene we have quite a few runners at Romford on Friday with Ivy Hill Skyhigh and Hopes Doggy in the Quicksilver final and on Saturday four decent runners are at Monmore for an all open race card.

No luck with our selections at Romford on Friday and looking to see if we can find a winner this week is not easy. On Saturday the in form Black Eyed Molly runs from trap 1 in a 489m contest at Monmore and looks a likely winner.
