The Boxing Day Marathon Final at Crayford will be the final race for Aayamza Breeze and what a bitch she has been for her owners and our kennel.
She got knocked over in the Regency Final at Hove in 2017 and then came back to come from last to first to win that thrilling 8 dog Dorando Marathon on Derby Final night at Towcester. But disaster struck in her very next race back at her favourite Hove track when she broke a hock. The injury was brilliantly treated by Stefano Malegori and after 9 months off the track she came back to top class open races.
We thought maybe we had seen the best of her but she ran probably her very best race for us to win this year's Regency Final as a veteran.
She will go to the breeding paddocks and hopefully produce at least one litter but it would be great if she could go out on a winning note on Boxing Day.
