RACE RESULTS
(Opens to a third party website)

Well not too much to talk about with the cancellation of racing at Towcester at the weekend due to damage to the hare rail caused by sub contractors working on the stage for the big Paloma Faith concert on Saturday. Our staff and dogs virtually had the weekend off though to be honest it doesn’t help owners who face a week of kennel bills without getting a run unless they have an open racer that was running Thursday or Friday.

The weather was incredible again with Wednesday and Thursday’s temperatures reaching a sweltering 34 degrees and that was a real worry as we faced long journeys to Hove and Monmore on Thursday and then on Friday and Saturday we saw some torrential rain which really was a relief more than a problem though the dip in temperatures and cold rain that fell at Towcester on Saturday night somewhat spoilt the Paloma Faith gig, I would think a few Greyhound fans thought serves you right! Hopefully everything is back to normal this week.

OPEN RACING

So our only racing was the opens and on Thursday at Monmore Bombers Bullet carried on where he left off at Sunderland by taking his heat of the Ladbrokes Summer Classic Stayers in good fashion, showing great track craft on his first look at the track he weaved his way through the field to score comfortably in 37.57. Both Roswell Romanov (2nd) and Garryglass Champ also qualified from the heats and we were rewarded with all three pitched in the same semi final this Thursday! In supporting races Silva Hill (4th) and Calco Cool (3rd) both ran well.

Over at Hove Ninja Fortune, not a great traveller, I thought felt the incredible heat a touch, though not to the point of not being fit to run but was a shade disappointing getting knocked out the semi final of the Sussex Cup. In the bitches supporting comp our two runners were in the last race of the night and Ninja Penny looked set to win as she challenged Swift Nadia in trap 5 but inexplicably Dave Lee’s bitch checked badly at the third bend, Ninja Penny was also slightly distracted but went on to win the race but a stewards enquiry immediately was called. A fox on the outside of the track had caused the incident and the race was voided due to the ‘outside interference’ rule, thankfully some common sense prevailed the next day and no re run was necessary as the right three bitches went through to the final.

saleen_ash_fd.JPGFor a change we had quite a few runners at Romford on Friday and we had three winners on the night with Ashakiran and Kilcree Diamond winning over 400m but again for a second we had that horrible feeling as All Slick Now took a crashing fall but thankfully he was absolutely fine afterwards. Saleen Ash followed up his impressive win at Towcester the previous week to take a good 575m race in fine style in 35.57 on a slow track.

We will be at Romford Friday as Kilcree Diamond tries to take the 400m Friday Night 500 Standard Final and there should be open race action at Towcester on Saturday.
