RACE RESULTS
(Opens to a third party website)

Antigua Fire looked awesome when winning his heat of the RPGTV St Leger at Perry Barr on Saturday, leading off the 4th bend he drew away to win by 8 lengths in a fastest of the night 43.31 (-30). It was a great night for the kennel as our TV Trophy winner Bumblebee Bullet was brave around the first two bends to go on and land her heat by 3 1/2 lengths in 43.97 (-40). Avastorm showed she is no back number and is having a great year, she bolted out and held off the strong challenge of Irish raider Riverside Honey by a short head in 44.03 (-40) on a track that was slowing down. Unfortunately Brigadier Bullet ran poorly when eliminated but cramped badly, hopefully he can bounce back soon. To complete a good night Coolavanny Messi landed a supporting 480m in a fine 28.63 (-10) and he has been a revelation over the last couple of months.

have_a_brandy_fd.JPGAnother one of our improving performers of late is Have A Brandy and he used a great draw in trap 1, despite being a middle runner, to land the Friday Night Standard final at Romford in a good 24.02. It was interesting after the Markwallisgreyhounds Racing Club bitch Nothing But Love won the 750m maiden that so many people said why hasn’t she gone over the trip earlier, she was actually entered in the previous three or four maiden marathons but none had filled. Her 47.89 last gasp victory was enjoyed by many. As well as Nothing But Love in the Racing Club we have 5 other race dogs and pups of various ages, it’s great fun for a one off fee of £500 and a £1 per day to be involved, for full details see our Racing Club page.

With the St Leger in mid flight and the Essex Vase and Oaks just around the corner we are looking for a big finish to the year. We also are getting a few new interesting prospects coming in so given a bit of luck we have loads to look forward to in 2020. I enjoyed writing a column for the Racing Post on Monday accentuating the prospects of our sport being on the up. For us, after a difficult first 6 or 7 months of the year I can say our kennel has certainly turned the corner. If we can find a couple of Derby type class ones for next year we would have even more to look forward to, though caution is always advised as this game has a nasty habit of kicking you in the nuts when you least expect it!

OPEN RACING

As said a good night at Romford on Friday with Have A Brandy taking the Standard final and Nothing But Love winning over 750m. Our only other open racing was our successful venture to Perry Barr on Saturday for the RPGTV St Leger with a fantastic four timer.

HENLOW REVIEW

longacres_tyrur_fd.JPGOn Monday Towstar Billy took off in a sprint winning by 2 lengths in a flying 16.45, puppy Longacres Tyrur got off the mark winning an A7 in a good 28.03, a rare win also for Come Home in an A10 by 3 1/2 lengths in 28.58.

On Tuesday morning Potman won well in an A6 by 2 1/2 lengths in 27.81, in the evening no winners but Energize Bobadoo, Shazzas Bullet, Glassmoss Queen and Koroleva Queen all ran well when second.

On Thursday Jaxx Purple got off the mark at the third attempt winning well in 28.31. On Saturday we were again close with three 2nds with Run Free Snowy, Ice Cool Ellis and Chubbys Jenny.
