7th February 2019
(Opens to a third party website)
This last week or so has been a struggle as myself, Sarah and Emily have been struck down by a nasty virus but we are just getting the better of it now, I think we have cleared Sainsbury's out of paracetamol and throat lozenges!
Hopefully our kennel is not suffering like us as we have the start of the first Category 1 of 2019 when the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket kicks off this Saturday at Crayford. Although we don't have the numbers of previous years where we have had half a dozen runners normally, this year we only have three. We do however have the ante post favourite in Brigadier Bullet and last Saturday he was again impressive in the last batch of trial stakes where he led all the way against some useful rivals clocking a decent 45.58. Aayamza Breeze ran really well to get within a couple of lengths and she also should go well in the event. It was a bitterly cold night which doesn't really suit Brigadier Bullet so we were more than pleased with his preparation. Our third entry Kiltrea Mike also ran well in another trial stake to lead on the run in to win in 46.22.
We were out of luck again at Romford on Friday coming away empty handed, Garryglass Champ came closest when just touched off over 575m.
A better night on Saturday at Crayford and on Sunday afternoon at Henlow a couple of opens graced the card with Glassmoss Sis winning well in a Maiden 550 in 34.07.
The weather has played havoc a touch with the schedule with Thursday's meeting running 2 hours behind. When it did get underway Droopys Cruiser won well in 23.89 in an A4 and Corrig Grace took a D2 in 16.88.
On Sunday Ribble Ghost again ran really well winning an A4 in 28.29.

WHAT'S ON NEXT WEEK
Just a few runners at Romford on Friday where Acting School runs in the Maiden Stayers final but all eyes will be on Crayford on Saturday night as the Golden Jacket kicks off with six first round heats.
WEBSITE RECOMMENDED BETS
Brigadier Bullet is around the 5/1 mark to land the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket and we have to have something on him as I believe he has the best chance of winning for us since Patches Kerry won in 2016. Aayamza Breeze represents a touch of each way value at 25/1.
