RACE RESULTS
(Opens to a third party website)

Sid Huett our head kennel hand is all signed up for Julie Collier's 'Fall For Hounds' Sky dive on 16th June and is looking for sponsors . I'm afraid I'm scared of heights and will not be signing up but will be making a massive effort over the next few months to get him well sponsored, click here for his link.

Evanta EvitaI have to admit to a real soft spot for Evanta Evita since she came into the kennel earlier this year. 'Lucy' is a lovely looking bitch with plenty of character and one of the first buys from Evan Herbert's Goldcrest Insurance Services Syndicate that now carry the 'Evanta' prefix, so it was a huge delight to see her win the Category 2 Ladbrokes Summer Cup Final over 480m at Monmore on Friday. Her draw in trap 5 was far from ideal but she somehow got round the second bend in front and galloped to a 3 length victory in 28.18 with Blackstone Marco running well back in 4th place after a slow start. After her win in the bitches race on Derby final night she has certainly put herself in the picture as a future Oaks winner, something we would dearly love to win to complete the collection of Classic winners from Imperial Kennels.

The Festivals at Monmore are something we always support and the prize money on offer from Ladbrokes is very good and much appreciated. Evanta Evita picked up £5,200 for the two runs which is very good as was the other prize money on offer for the three other finals on Friday afternoon. Domino Storm ran well but was well beaten in the Puppy Final over 480m by Pat Rosney's Swift Hoffman who looks a very good pup and Snappers Lad was 4th. Ilewin Allot used his rails slot to good advantage in the 416m Final to lead but was outgunned by Liz Mcnair's Leamaneigh Turbo while Kevin Hutton's Airport Captain took the honours in the Category 1 Ladbrokes Summer Stayers Final.

We didn't do as well as we would have liked in the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers with quite a strong hand and first round scorer Blonde Razor picked up a small injury in the semi final when eliminated and will miss the William Hill Grand Prix that kicks off this Saturday at Sunderland. Adageo Bob and El Flutter were not really suited by Monmore's short run to the bend that favours railers but should be more at home at Sunderland and both trialled pretty well before racing on Saturday. Reel Trickyone, beaten 4 lengths by Adageo Bob will come on for his first effort over further than 575m and add to that impressive scorer in a trial stake on Saturday Aayamzamodel and last year's semi finalist Jazz Tilly and we have a massive chance of landing the event we won last year with a Hometown Honey. The Classic over 450m is a real specialist trip and we had high hopes for our Derby semi finalist Aero Nemesis but both his trial and subsequent last place in a race there on Saturday has left question marks on his suitability for the £25,000 to the winner event. He may well improve from those two sighters but we will have a think before we definitely enter when they close tomorrow.

A lot has been said and written on the superb 'Fall For Hounds' Skydive which raised an incredible £80,000+ last Monday for the RGT. We attended the after party at a nearby pub and there was a sense of real achievement from all the jumpers and our Head Kennelhand Sid Huett was absolutely buzzing from his exploits. Well done to Julie Collier and all her helpers as this was without doubt a superb success and who knows what the challenge might be next year, as long as it involves something where your feet don't come off the ground you can count me in as well!

Entries are flooding in for our popular 5 To Follow competition that starts next week on July 1st. Please please don't leave it until it's too late to do your entries as I'm away on my Vegas WSOP campaign from this weekend and I will not be able to sort any late ones out! Already Adageo Bob and Reel Trickyone are proving popular on many entries as is Monmore scorer Evanta Evita for the fairer sex. I must admit we have plenty of new pups and dogs to choose from as well as some established open racers and I think there could be some surprises in store. We ourselves do a staff 5 To Follow competition which provides plenty of banter and is great fun and unlike the main competition where there are three nice prizes on offer to the winning teams ours is just for pride! THIS IS A FREE TO ENTER COMPETITION and you can have up to FIVE TEAMS but remember you must have 2 or more bitches in your selections.

As I've said over the last few weeks I'm off to celebrate my 50th birthday in Las Vegas this coming weekend until July 14th and a big thank you from all the offers I've had that wanted to buy a bit of my action in the WSOP main event and good luck to those that are in. I will be giving a small percentage of any winnings to the RGT. Sarah and my staff will ensure our high standards are kept up whilst I'm away, which I thank them for, and I hope I can catch some of the races, particularly the Sunderland ones, so I can cheer our stars on, a big winner will make my celebrations even better. I suspect the internet forums will have there predictable abuse as they think a trainer is not allowed to have a holiday, lol! but hey I'm used to it all by now!

OPEN RACING

Domino Storm

On Monday at Monmore disappointment as Adageo Bob, El Flutter and Blonde Razor were all eliminated in the semi finals of the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers but there was better news in the supporting competitions as Domino Storm (Puppy), Evanta Evita (480m Summer Cup) and Ilewin Alott (416m) all took their heats in good style and Blackstone Marco (480m) and Snappers Lad (puppy) also qualified for the finals.

Ilewin Allot

Darian Star was best of our three runners at Hove on Thursday when 3rd and no luck at Romford on Friday with 5 runners though new intake Killie Prince ran well on his kennel debut when 3rd in a 400m Maiden. As said it was great to see Evanta Evita overcome a tricky draw to beat some useful rivals including Blackstone Marco when landing the Ladbrokes Summer Cup and both Domino Storm and Ilewin Allot ran well to be runners up in supporting competitions.

Aayamzamodel

At Sunderland on Saturday Aero Nemesis was slightly disappointing when last in a William Hill trial stake for the Classic over 450m while Jazz Tilly just ran out of gas when beaten a head over 640m in a Grand Prix trial stake though we did come away with a winner as Aayamzamodel put favourite Pond Mozart in her place when landing the top trial stake in an excellent 39.76.

On Sunday just the two runners in the 480m final at Sittingbourne where Bridge Bandit was in trouble from an awkward trap 6 slot and Benkaat Nero missed it a bit but showed good pace to finish 2nd.

GRADED RACING

Adageo LadOllie Blue was just collared on the line in an A4 on Wednesday and Saffrons Champ was a running on 3rd in top grade whilst our other runner Evanta Nemo was a shade unlucky when 4th in an A2 on debut.

A rare week at Yarmouth with no winners though Adageo Lad came closest when beaten a head in top grade on Saturday. Benkaat Dolly was second again in an A2 and her turn is surely just around the corner.

PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK

OPEN - EANTA EVITA
GRADED - ADAGEO LAD

WHAT'S ON NEXT WEEK

We start our build up to the forthcoming Sussex Cup with some runners at Hove on Thursday while we will also be at Romford on Friday.

The main feature this week is the William Hill Festival that kicks off on Saturday at Sunderland with the heats of the Classic over 450m and the Grand Prix over 640m in which we have a strong hand.

WEBSITE RECOMMENDED BETS

Adageo Bob never had the run of the race at Monmore in the Ladbrokes Summer Stayers but we won't desert him in the William Hill Grand Prix at Sunderland. Only trouble is we have five strong entries in this event and in my opinion all are capable of winning. Aayamzamodel, Jazz Tilly, El Flutter and serial competition winner Reel Trickyone could all be well fancied but I can't put them all up. Adageo Bob will certainly be best suited to me as he can win from the front or behind but as I said I wouldn't put anyone off backing any of the others.

ADAGEO BOB - 2.5 pts e.w ante post - William Hill Grand Prix - Sunderland - Saturday

ADVISED LAST WEEK

ROSEALINDA - 1 pt e.w ante post 66/1 - Three Steps To Victory - Sheffield - lost

ADAGEO BOB - 2 pts e.w ante post 12/1 - Ladbrokes Summer Stayers - Monmore - lost
