Just a brief catch up this week. The Greyhound Derby is now down to the last 48 at Towcester this Saturday and we can still dream even though we have just the one runner left in Drumcrow Brent, he qualified from his second round heat comfortably enough on Friday but will need to really step up if he is to make it through to the quarter finals. He faces stiff opposition from across the water with Liam Dowling’s duo of Ballymac Ariel and Ballymac Fairone and Robert Gleeson’s Toolmaker Sydney all of whom are capable of sub 29.20 runs. Brent’s draw in trap 6 is a cracker and if he can break in his best style he could take advantage of some likely crowding on his inside. There are some cracking third round heats and the classic is really warming up, amazingly it’s 10/1 the field which tells us how open the whole event is.

It’s a busy time over the weekend and our two well fancied runners for the Kent St Leger at Crayford face tough draws and races in this week's semi finals. Ante post favourite Bo Shine Bullet goes from trap 4 and will need to get round the first bend unscathed and if she does she will be difficult to keep out of the first two while Fatboyz Trixie is in trap 5 and will have every chance to make the final. We also have a few runners at Monmore Saturday as we like supporting their opens, hopefully we can find a winner or two.

OPEN RACING

agincourt_xena_fd.JPGJust the one winner from a few runners at Romford on Friday as Agincourt Xena got back to winning ways when stepped up to 575m winning her heat of the Maiden Stayers in 35.51. Drumcrow Brent qualified in 3rd from his second round Greyhound Derby heat.

Bo Shine Bullet took her heat of the Kent St Leger at Crayford by 9 lengths in 45.40 and Fatboyz Trixie was a comfortable second in her heat.

HENLOW & TOWCESTER REVIEW

muxton_teddy_fd.JPGNo good at Henlow on Monday and just the one nice winner at Towcester on Tuesday as All Fours scorched round in an A3 in 29.57. Only the one winner as well on Thursday as Towstar Luna took an A3 in 30.13. At Henlow on Saturday again just the one winner as Muxton Teddy strode away to another victory in top grade in 27.58.

A good night Sunday with Breakfast Club winning on debut in an A5 in 28.21. In an excellent A1 Rail McCoy won in a nice 27.54 whilst Saffrons Tiger caused a surprise when taking an A2 in 28.12, to complete a good night Domino Charm took an A4 in 28.64
